Today I have four new Nicole by OPI lacquers to show you. These shades are the fun new additions to the Nicole by OPI line for 2013. The release includes two dark vampy shades Plum to Your Senses! and Totally in the Dark and two bright cremes Please Red-cycle and Still Into Pink...

Nicole by OPI Modern Family Stripes

This manicure was inspired by a coworker. She had created a black/white/gray version with random lines and I liked it so much that I thought I would try a more colorful version. I used polishes from the Nicole by OPI Modern Family collection that were still hanging out on my table after being swatched. This is a bit different for me as I tend to shy away from the random and abstract, but this was really fun to create and wear...

Press Release: OPI Euro Centrale

The New Voice of Fashion

OPI Announces the Launch of Euro Centrale
for Spring/Summer 2013

Classic meets contemporary with Euro Centrale by OPI for Spring/Summer 2013. Celebrating a region where history meets modern design, the collection’s twelve new nail lacquers offer a mixture of glamorous metallic hues; playful bright shades in periwinkle, aqua and pink; and creamy blues in indigo, midnight and aubergine.

“Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania make up an exciting new fashion hotspot,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “When visiting these countries, you’ll view Gothic churches alongside vibrant graffiti murals, blending two very different aesthetics. This fusion of old and new was also seen in runway looks during New York Fashion Week, where classic styles were reinvented with modern silhouettes and patterns.

Euro Centrale boasts a wide variety of shades, ranging from pale nude to deep blue – and featuring everything from shimmering copper to aqua in between!,” continues Weiss-Fischmann. “Whether you’re looking to spice up a black and white print, or add neutrality to a vivid brocade, these lacquers are designed to accessorize spring’s hottest looks.”

Euro Centrale by OPI includes the following shades:

Blue and violet are dancing partners in this glittery combo.

OPI…Eurso Euro
This deep blue cream is very continental.

Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN!
Thank goodness there are zero calories in this warm and yummy pink!

You’re Such a BudaPest
If I let you borrow this periwinkle-purple, will you go away?

Can’t Find My Czechbook
I hope you take credit, because I must have this aqua!

My Paprika is Hotter than Yours!
Get the extinguisher...this fiery red is sizzling!

Hands Off My Kielbasa!
Get your own...this bronzy tan is all mine!

OY–Another Polish Joke!
So this shimmery-gold walks into a bar...

A Woman’s Prague-ative
I’m changing this shimmery copper for...never mind!

Vant to Bite My Neck?
You know you want to...wear this deep eggplant.

I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw
Be seen in this deep midnight blue.

My Vampire is Buff
Creamy, pale and nude...just how I like my vampires.

OPI Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann
Selects Favorite Trends in Nail Color

Euro Centrale by OPI offers 12 new nail lacquers in a collection where classic hues meet contemporary shades. From this Spring/Summer 2013 launch, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann shares her top three trendsetting selections – OPI…Eurso Euro, You’re Such a BudaPest and Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN!

“This season, I’ve selected three very different, equally beautiful shades,” explains Weiss-Fischmann.  “A wide spectrum of blues will be seen throughout fashion, beauty and home décor. OPI…Eurso Euro is a deep blue hue that adds rich, contrasting color to spring’s warm and bright prints.

“Purple was hot for fall, and it continues to be a must-have shade for spring. The deep, jewel-toned amethyst look has been updated with a pastel finish like the unique periwinkle hue You’re Such a BudaPest. To go along with these dark and light shades, I recommend a strong pop of bright lacquer, such as Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN! This vibrant color will complement all skin tones and transition nails from cool winter months to warmer weather.”

OPI…Eurso Euro, You’re Such a BudaPest and Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN! contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and each includes OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application.

Euro Centrale by OPI will be available February 6, 2013, at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $9.00 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.

Quality time!

I work a crazy schedule and don't often get to spend time with my cousin outside of family functions and friend gatherings. It was a real treat to get to spend some quality time, just the two of us on Tuesday. It also gave me the opportunity to finally give her the manicure I've been promising for way too long. She has been showing it off to everyone, so I thought I would show it off to you...

Shimmer Sarah Peacock!

Hello lovely readers! Today I have peacock nail art to show you that was inspired by the gorgeous glitter bomb Shimmer Sarah. Just like Irene, Sarah wanted to be a part of a bright and bold manicure. With it's gold, blue and purple accents within the primarily teal glitter, I decided the peacock stamping would be the perfect way to show it off...

Born Pretty Store Hot Pink Flocking Powder!

Fuzzy nails! This is certainly one thing that I thought I would never (and I mean never!) try. The crazy thing about saying never though is that it comes back to bite you. Recently, I accepted an offer from the to review some of their fun nail art products including these and these nail studs. As a surprise, I also got some flocking powder! Let me tell you, I have never been more terrified of a jar of fuzz in my life. It has been taunting me for more than a month as I got up my nerve to try it. Not only is it bright neon pink, but it meant fuzzy nails after I swore  to "never". Little did I know that it would actually be so much fun...

Sunday Stamping: With an Accent Nail

It is once again time for a Sunday Stamping challenge in the group Adventures in Stamping. This week's theme is a stamping manicure that includes an accent nail. I have been trying to think of something really clever and creative to show you for this challenge and came up with nothing. Funny thing though, inspiration often comes when you least expect it, so as I was playing around with the new Nicole by OPI shade, I got the urge to do an argyle print and just went with it...

Nicole by OPI Modern Family Collection - Part 2

Yesterday I showed you the first half of the new Nicole by OPI Modern Family Collection. Today I have the rest of the fourteen piece collection to show you. This half includes all the darker shades which I'm crazy about. It has everything from glitter to duochrome to shimmer and metallic.

The names of these polishes all center around the characters in Modern Family. I really like the play on names and I love that Nicole by OPI seems to share my propensity for ellipses and exclamation points! Without further ado, here are the swatches...

Nicole by OPI Modern Family Collection - Part 1

Hi Everyone! Today I have another fun collection to show you. This is the Nicole by OPI Modern Family Collection. It actually consists of 14 polishes, seven of which I will be showing you today and the rest I plan on posting tomorrow. These are the lighter shades in the collection. This collection really has it all, from light to dark shades, creams, shimmers, metallic, glitter and more.

I must confess that I have not actually watched a single full episode (I have caught glimpses) of Modern Family, but that is mainly because I watch very little TV at home. It does have wonderful reviews and I'm sure I will catch up in a marathon episode watching session one of these days. The polishes are named after the characters in this series...

Shimmer Irene Goes Wild

I am not often inspired to have animal print on my nails, but there is something about the sweet little Shimmer Irene that screamed at me to show it's wild side. Lest you get the wrong impression and assume that it is quiet and innocent. Irene is one of the newest Shimmer Polish creations by Cindy and she is a beauty. You might know by now how crazy I am about Cindy's glitter bombs and this is certainly no exception...

Born Pretty Store: Black Rhinestone Studs

Hi there lovely ladies (and gentlemen?). Today I've got some nail art to show you that I created recently. It features black rhinestone studs form the which I used to accent my Zoya Blu manicure. There are tons of possibilities for these studs, but for this manicure I chose to incorporate them into a stamping pattern...

China Glaze Tranzitions

I got the opportunity to swatch and play with a few of the new China Glaze Tranzitions shades, so today I want to show you those swatches and the nail art that I created with them. I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think of them...

Sunday Stamping: Light Stamp Over Dark

Today's Sunday Stamping theme of light stamp over a dark base gave me the perfect excuse to create a manicure I've been wanting to do for a while. When I first saw this stamping pattern, I couldn't help but get the feeling of deja vu. At the time I couldn't figure out what it was all about and it wasn't until weeks later when I finally realized what it was. The trash can that stands under my desk has this exact pattern on it. Really, I mean this exact pattern. It would be a crime not to replicate it on my nails...

OPI Mariah Carey Butterfly

I showed you swatches of the Mariah Carey by OPI polishes a few days ago and today i want to show you the nail art that I created using a few of them. After swatching, I ended up wearing A Butterfly Moment solo for a few days and then spruced it up with glitter and stamping  Since Mariah is such a huge fan of butterflies (and really who can blame her, they are gorgeous), I had no choice but to add butterflies...

Polish Days: Something New - Sugar Spun Nails

To coincide with the beginning of a new year, this month's Polish Days theme is to try something new. Trying new things is actually one of the reasons why I really love participating in challenges. It gives me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and play around with new colors and techniques. It may not always work out, but it is always a chance to learn and experiment.

For this challenge I decided to try creating a sugar spun manicure, a technique that has long been on my "to try" list. As so many other things on that list, I don't often make time for it unless I'm challenged to do so. I'm happy to show you my first attempt...

OPI Mariah Carey Collection Featuring Liquid Sand

The name Mariah Carey instantly takes me back to great memories of the mid to late nineties when it seemed that I played her songs on endless repeat. This was just one of the reasons why I was looking forward to the OPI Mariah Carey collection. The other reason I was excited about this collection was to try the brand new Liquid Sand polish texture. OPI did not disappoint, this collection is gorgeous...

InDecisive Nail Lacquer

I would like to start out the new year with swatches of InDecisive Nail Lacquer which were kindly provided to me by their creator. It is a new Indie brand that sets out to help you find "what to wear when you can't decide what to wear!" With such pretty colors and finishes, however, it is still impossible to decide which one to wear. It has everything from glitter packed jellies to holo to a color changing top coat.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a fun New Years celebration! I had a wonderful time with family and friends that is continuing into today. I'm sneaking in a few minutes for the post. For the festivities I went with a glequin manicure. I knew that I wanted to do this ever since the bling manicure last month. It was definitely way more over the top, sparkly and time consuming than it needed to be, but lots of fun...
